Helping You Find the Best Treatment for Spinal Stenosis
Spinal Stenosis
Spinal stenosis is literally a narrowing of the spinal canal that surrounds and compresses the spinal cord in the neck, and nerve roots in the low back. Typical symptoms of spinal stenosis include radiating pain, numbness, and muscle weakness of the arms or legs. Spinal stenosis in the neck (cervical spine) usually produces symptoms in the arms, hands, and sometimes legs. Spinal stenosis in the low back (lumbar spine) frequently causes sciatica or other leg and foot symptoms. Many people with lumbar spinal stenosis also experience pain and heaviness in their legs when walking called “neurogenic claudication.”
